EMDR: Cutting Your Stress Down to Size
EMDR: Cutting
Your Stress
Down to Size
Is your stress keeping
you from doing the things that you want?
Is
it having a negative effect on your relationships, your job
or other areas of your life? Do you have so much stress that
you can’t seem to enjoy anything?
EMDR can help. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) works
with both your brain and your body to eliminate the stress
you feel from past events. It could have been something
as minor as a childhood bee sting or as major as a life-threatening
event. We
often forget they ever happened and have no idea that they
are the actual cause of our current stress.
EMDR has been successfully used with a variety
issues that can be stress provoking:
• Performance anxiety
• Performance Enhancement
• Panic and anxiety disorders
• Phobias
• Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
• Chemical dependency
• Relationship concerns
• Issues with food and weight
• Depression, and many other issues
How can EMDR
work to break the bonds of stress? You
may notice that certain things just seem to “push
your buttons”. Chances are, those buttons are
left over from a past experience. Your brain might know
it’s over, but your body hasn’t caught on.
EMDR doesn’t erase the memories of the past events,
but it does eliminate the negative reactions that are still
occurring. EMDR does it fast and does it permanently.
Take back your life. You
don’t have to learn to live with your stress, anxiety
or fear. I will develop a treatment plan that is
designed specifically for you. We won’t just
talk about it, we’ll do something about it.
